Help and Tutorial Improvement

This is for the Help and Tutorial improvement, since the UI/UX Improvement is already long and will focus on overall Application Design changes instead.

Notes on current version of app: 9/24/20

Under FAQ:
My phone and watch have become unpaired.
“Simply reopen the WearOS app on your phone, wait until the app says (not said)”
Change “said” to be “says”

Under Tutorial:
Step 1:
The word “title” is a widow, meaning it appears alone on the line, which is against design principles since it looks weird. Resize the paragraph window so that more words appear in the last line, or no words appear in the last line alone.

“Phone Tutorial” floats at the bottom of the screen and isn’t attached to anything. It looks lonely and is confusing. Should it appear above the words, “Step 1?”

Step 3 is missing a picture or is the question mark supposed to be the image? There isn’t a lot of contrast with the image so it’s hard to see the question mark.

Up next: Watch Tutorial is too low on the screen and too far from the paragraph above. Move it closer to the paragraph above.

Watch Tutorial:
Step 1
“a paired” Paired should be lowercase not uppercase.
The word “appear” is another widow, alone on the line.

Step 2:
“Mean” should be “means” with an s.
“Listening” is a widow.

Step 4:
Watch Tutorial should say “Watch Tutorial- Step 4” to be consistent with the other steps.

Step 5:
Watch Tutorial should say “Watch Tutorial- Step 5” to be consistent with the other steps

Step 6:
Watch Tutorial should say, “Watch Tutorial- Step 6” to be consistent with the other steps

ABOUT Section:
Email address I believe is [email protected], isn’t there a CS in there or am I wrong?

UI Notes on current version of phone app: 10/8/20 Screenshots in the document.

On home screen, “microwaves” should not be plural. “Microwave” no s
On Settings, the toggle button background is black, and you can’t see it to know that there is a toggle function until you press it.

Under FAQ, “WearOs” should be “WearOS” (Capital S)

Under Instruction, should be “The SoundWatch app” (add “the”)

Under Instruction, should be “needs” (add s) to be opened in order”

In Tutorial, In the rounded rectangle, “check” should be “checked” (add ed)

In the How-Tos it should be singular, “How-to 1”

In the Tutorial, under between the arrows, it should be “How-to 2” singular. All the “How-tos” should be changed to “how-to”

In the Tutorial, “How tos” should be singular, How-to 3.
“How-tos 4” should be singular, “How-to”

“How-tos 5” should be singular, “How-to”

“How-tos 6” should be singular, “How-to”

“How-tos 7” should be singular, “How-to”

Under How-tos 7, should be “on the Settings” (add word the)

Under How-tos 7, should be “turned off” (past tense of turn)

The SoundWatch page in Tutorials that says “Select the sounds you want to recognize” appears duplicated and twice when you slide through them. That seems to be an error.

Under “Instruction” it should be “Instructions” (plural, add an s)

Under “Instruction” Add “The” for The SoundWatch app…

Under “Instruction” Add an s to “needs”

The Menu bar at the bottom of the screen is underneath/overlaps the phone’s menu buttons. Maybe the screen is too long.

ABOUT section: third paragraph, should be “The University of Washington” (add the)
