proxmox wake on lan commands

#This file contains commands used in my youtube video Proxmox Wake On Lan https://youtu.be/JIHQzj_fKh8 (Which may or may not be available yet)

apt install ethtool -y

ip addr

find network card id

ethtool enp6s0

ethtool -s enp6s0 wol g

ethtool enp6s0

now wake on lan g should be shown

create a service so it always works

nano /etc/systemd/system/wol.service

add the below into the file we just created make sure we amend the network card id

[Unit]
Description=Enable Wake-on-LAN
After=network.target

[Service]
Type=oneshot
ExecStart=/usr/sbin/ethtool -s enp6s0 wol g

[Install]
WantedBy=multi-user.target

then we can run

systemctl enable wol.service

and

systemctl start wol.service

now shutdown the service and send a magic packet command to the server.
