I've built a standalone binary executable version of the CQ-Editor for macOS. The application bundle has all of the dependencies and required components baked in for easy one step installation from a convenient disk image:

Open the disk image and drag the CQ-Editor icon to your Applications folder. After installation, you can launch CQ-Editor from the Applications folder just like any other macOS app.

The app bundle has been tested on macOS Catalina but I still need to test it on a couple of previous macOS versions to ensure that it works reliably. I also need to make sure the signing of the disk image and app do not trigger nuisance macOS security warnings and App quarantine.

The downside to the ease of installation is the size of application bundle. The disk image is "only" 278 MB but the resulting app bundle after installation is just over 1.0 GB!
