Right now it is not working out of the box:

This means some generics aren't generated, though this might not be the fault of HC

Hot Chocolate is not compatible with AOT at the moment. We will have a look at it but not in the next 6 month. Hot Chocolate also does a lot of runtime compilation which does not work with AOT. We have some plans around how to shift some of these things to source generators but this will take some time.

But even ASP.NET core is not yet compatible as far as I understand. David Fowler is also posting experiments on how to shift runtime compilation features to source generators.

The stacktrace BTW is pure ASP.NET Core nothing Hot Chocolate. Since Hot Chocolate does not use reflection for the JSON serializer at all. But in any rate do not expect any work on this to go into 13. I would say version 14 something is a better bet ... so end of next year.

The Hot Chocolate version 13 release mentioned focusing on AOT, but I have not seen any other news related to it. Looking forward to it, if it's still a thing!
