Are downloads synchronized/stored on the remote social server? e.g. Is the server a cache/mirror of the podcast episodes?

for now, entirely local. no value in caching on the server until/unless there's a web client IMO

Something to consider then, is how do you synchronize the list of podcast subscriptions between each client? Especially when some of those podcasts might have security-sensitive information (e.g. the Giantbomb premium casts will have an authentication token embedded as a password in the URL)
