As a programmer who has been writing code for quite some time, using GitHub Copilot for the first time was an enlightening experience. I learnt about the myriad ways in which this tool can be useful for software engineers across all disciplines, and how it can boost productivity to speed up code writing, debugging, unit testing, configuring development environments as well as databases.

I was pleasantly surprised by the ease with which we spun up codespaces in GitHub with a pre-configured environment and started exploring the breadth of Copilot's capabilities. Barring a few technical hiccups, the labs could be followed by non-technical folks as well. I enjoyed interacting with VS code's web interface for the labs, and using GitHub Copilot chat online.

For future sessions, I recommend that participants be allowed to configure the lab setup beforehand to save time. A video can accompany the setup README.md files to make it easier for participants to follow steps.
