Automatically copy top color format to clipboard #60
Comments
I appreciate the suggestion and am open for further discussion, but I don't think this would be an improvement. It's already pretty easy to copy the top color using the designated button on the left side. Additionally, I'm hesitant to simply change the user's clipboard without any feedback or their authorization. While this could be solved by adding a toast message, similar to the one that already shows when copying a color, I still do not see any improvement, aside from saving one singular click. |
Maybe keyboard shortcut for copying hex value? I think it's a good idea to have it automatically copy into clipboard. This might by enabled in preferences or so. MacOs color picker does this I think |
I think a keyboard shortcut would be a good compromise between automatic copying and just having a button, although I'm not sure if they should always copy a specific format or the top one, I'll have to think about that. |
Just an update from my end - I ended up installing the Gnome Color Picker extension that was suggested in the README and it suits my needs. https://github.com/tuberry/color-picker |
When I pick a color on my screen, I would like for the top color format to automatically be copied to my clipboard, so that I can quickly paste it into another application.
