Thanks for the fantastic tool!

@srct is creating our graphics for our local event, and we were wondering if it would be possible for you to add base pictures and generation for facebook and twitter event headers.

Basically, such that they follow the facebook size guidelines while also reducing the text as much as possible so it can be optimized for the facebook algorithms. I'd just add it and file a PR, but the base picture you have isn't something I can change. Thanks!

All the kudos goes to @Shy! 🎉 🎉

My guess would be that yes, we can definitely support social pictures, and it's something I know would be better suited to Facebook's algorithms. The only issue I would have is that we don't have that kind of data (images to add) for any LHD events.

The quick solution is to just fork it and change base.jpg to your liking. The long term solution is to extend this tool (possibly into a command line tool) that will accept photos and generate a flyer from those images.

What do you think @ocelotsloth?

Thanks for the response @bih, I also pinged @Shy in the slack team.

re changing the base.jpg to our liking, that's what we were planning on doing. The issue is, we don't have the original assets that went into creating that file. Is there a press kit etc somewhere with those so that we can avoid hacky lasso selections in photoshop?

By just adding something like a base-social.jpg and and additional generation for each school in the csv file, it would really streamline the process for other orgs looking to promote their LHD event.

Hi @bih I wanted to jump in with a little more specificity.

We'd like to rearrange the ten b&w image tiles that make up the background to base.jpg in a horizontal format for use as a banner for a Hackday Facebook event cover photo.

Cutting apart base.jpg as is won't really work because a lot of the text is already included on the image. We would appreciate if you could add the component images themselves; we'd be able to 're-tile' them together horizontally.

Figured I'd post this here for reference so it doesn't get lost in the sea of slack posts.
