How to enable meSQL driver?

In the documentation, meSQL driver is mentioned:

• mySQL: mySQL and meSQL pages

From the grass-mesql.html file, I can tell it is an embedded MySQL reader not requiring a database server. I don't know how to enable it.

I just found that when reviewing broken links. (It is not compiled on the documentation server.)

Embedded MySQL was deprecated with 5.7 and removed with 8. So, as far as I understand it, an old MySQL is needed for a start.
