Hi,

I am getting these two errors "Initialization retry failed" and "Dell could not initialize or has no sensors".

I have unblocked both the DLLs and added the signature for the sys file.

My bios has recently been updated.

Thank you!

It might just not work on your specific laptop, you seem to have installed it correctly. Have you done the regedit edit?

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CI\Policy]
"UpgradedSystem"=dword:00000000

Hi Rem0o,

After restarting my computer twice the plugin is now working. However I am now getting the same issue as Jurgen-DOUCHY which is that 2 controls and 2 speeds are showing, but the speeds do not show any RPM and the controls have no effect on the fans.

In the linked DellFanManagement documentation is says that Latitude 7440 is supported so I thought mine - Lattitude 7420 - would work as it is a relatively new laptop. But maybe it's not supported.

Thanks for your response nonetheless & congrats on the great program

EDIT I see in the DellFanManagement issues it says "11th gen systems are not supported at this time. Dell has changed the BIOS interface for fan control, and I haven't been able to figure out new fan control mechanism (nor has anyone else AFAIK). I do have capability to read the fan RPM (in the current committed code but not in the published 2.x version).". So it seems that the inexorable march of progress is thwarting us.
