It happend to me already the 2nd time when running FB for multiple days that the AIS boats are "frozen" to the screen. New movement's are not shown. Last time I rebooted the pi. I leave it in this state for now in case you want me to dump anything. My TZ Pro was running on the same PC as the Browser without issue all the time.

Interesting is that in FB some targets still move (like my tender) while targets are shown that have been disappeared at least 12h ago.

It is all driven by the delta messages received.

To start I would check the data browser and see if the data values for the "static" AIS targets are being updated.

If your vessel is still moving then received messages are still being processed by Freeboard-SK.

You can also check the browser console to see if there are errors being generated.

Hmm... My RPI5 was running now for at least 10d. Both browsers use FB from RPI on 2 different PCs.

This Browser window was open for >48h:

This Browser Window was just opened:

As you can see the >48h window shows targets that don't exist anymore.
Maybe some kind of "refresh" is missing.

Have performed some testing at my end using the following Freeboard-SK settings:

Vessels were displayed as stale after no data received after 6 mins.

And then removed after 9 mins.

Can you please provide a screen shot of the info for an AIS target that should be removed from the display (similar to the one above).

I restarted my SK server today due to plugin updates. Will keep it running now and post as requested when it happens again.

So it happend again. I have 3 boats shown in FB that are not existant. I compared this with TZ and my Marinetraffic Pro account.

FB shows this:

Real World:

I left SK and FB in current state, in case you want to debug something. Even if I open a new Browser on a different PC this 3 ghost targets are shown with a current timestamp.

This is our buddy boat and they arrived Whangarei (70nm south) yesterday 17:00 local time.
Seems like that "lost AIS signals" are not deleted from the map and shown with current timestamp.

I'm not sure why the timestamp is current...

On the server, under Settings, there is "Maximum age of inactive vessels' data", what do you have that set too?

My local time was 08:23 when I did the screenshot. Buddy boat has been away from this position at least >9h.

Local date/time is 20.02.2025 - 8:39am

So maybe on the SK Server the "Maximum age of inactive vessels' data" process is buggy....

Looks like it could be the derived data plugin as navigation.distanceToSelf was updated at 8:38
Sending that delta will keep the vessel on the map.

Hmm, is that a bug in that plugin or a hidden config I missed?

Raise an issue in the derived data plugin repo.

Not a Freeboard issue, so closing.
