How to properly remove an item from a page of an infinite query

if I set

getNextPageParam: (lastPage) =>
lastPage.length = FETCHING_LIMIT ? 
lastPage[lastPage.length - 1].id : null,

then when I remove an item in the last page using setQueryData, getNextPageParam will rerun and set hasNextPage to false which is incorrect.
Is there a way to prevent getNextPageParam from recalculating when calling setQueryData
