The Google/Skywater PDK is an open-source, manufacturable process design kit for the Skywater 130nm process technology. Starting in 2020, Google convinced Skywater to open-source the entire PDK and has since done 8 Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) runs to manufacturing chips for anyone in the community. For free.
There were several videos as a part of the FOSSi Dial-up series throughout 2020/2021:
- Tim Ansell - Skywater PDK: Fully open source manufacturable PDK for a 130nm process
- Tim Edwards - Using Magic for DRC checks on SkyWater 130nm
- Mohamed Kassem - The striVe RISC-V SoC Family on SkyWater 130nm
- James Stine - Designing new 130nm cells for SkyWater 130nm
- Matt Guthaus - OpenRAM on SkyWater 130nm
- Mohamed Kassem - 45 Chips in 30 Days: Open Source ASIC at its best!
