Automate the Steps "Register as proxy browser" and "Set as HTTP/S protocol handler"

Hello guys,

any chance to automate these steps? I install bt with software deployment + copy a pre defined config.ini to Appdata. But the user still needs to do the 3 Steps. Changing the default for Http/Https can probably done with GPO but i dont know about the registering...

It is possible but complicated:

• register as proxy browser - this is fully automatable, but not performed automatically as BT's policy is not to make system changes without user's consent. I can expose it via command-line in future versions.
• set as http/s protocol handler - this is complicated since Windows 10 - any automated attempt to change user's default browser is blocked. There are ways around it but it's not 100% reliable.

I was able to complete the register with export the registry tree "[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients]" and import it then. I read the function void setup::register_browser() and saw that you create this tree there :)

For the protocol i will go with GPO and the assoc.xml. I hope this will work ^^

Hello again @aloneguid looks like its not working that good with the registry. Any thoughts how long it will take for you to add this? or any tips what i can add to my script? Atm i only import the "[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Clients]" tree but smth is missing i guess
