A suddenly appearing unnumbered chapter causes the USFM and chapter editor not to work #999

I translate Matthew, Mark and Luke from Greek to German and I use the version of Bibledit from the Ubuntu repository (5.1.002). I worked with some lists (li) and the visual editor didn't do what I wanted to do. I wanted to have the verse numbers at the end of the list entry.

For some reason the chapter editor and the USFM editor didn't work anymore. No matter what change I made, I got the message "change of text length is too large". It seems to be a bug. I noticed that there is a second \c without a number below the right \c 3 in this chapter (Luke 3). This could also be the source of the problem. I haven't put it there (manually). The verse editor must have created it. I had never used the USFM editor in this chapter as far as I know. The \c was added in a very early state, maybe I added a new line with "enter"when the cursor was behind the chapter.

The appearing error message seems to be wrong. What I did was: I raised the admitted percentage to 100% and removed the empty \lis before the verse numbers, the \p and changed a \p into a \li in the USFM editor. Then the whole chapter Luke 3 was gone. Only the first heading was left (see file "100001184(.txt)").

"100001183(.txt)" is the original file. "100001184(.txt)" is the corrupted file.
100001183.txt
100001184.txt

In all other chapters (Matthew 1-26, Mark 1-16, Luke 1-2), the USFM and chapter editors work.
