Something automated like https://build.getsol.us could really assist users with knowing what is currently being built, what was build and when, and seeing the logs.

This in turn could allow easier contribution, and more transparency.

Also, GitHub allows for automated changes, so this should not harm the Git process.

I perfectly understand.
Perhaps GitHub's automation features may help here?

As in, you send the commit, and a build is automatically triggered in GitHub, and once it's done, the resulting .eopkg is sent to your server.
