When using the toolkits in hedgehog that have "do you need help identifying interfaces", there are several hardwares that no longer light up tx/rx to identify the interface.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Applies to Protectli and newer OnLogic devices.
Expected behavior
Blinkys.
Malcolm Version:
Everything used during 2024 to today on the Hedgehog iso.
Additional context
Discusss with me to reproduce in person or provide hardware. SFP devices on the Protectli DOES work, but RJ45 devices have not been.

HedgeHog interface ID script not working
Hedgehog NIC identify (ethtool --identify) does not blink interface lights on some hardware
Feb 3, 2025
The offending code is here, which is just a call to ethtool --identify XXX to identify the adapter. I'll need to get access to the hardware where this doesn't work to see what, if anything, we can do about it. Thanks.
