I am not sure about the technical details, but it seems that the arm7 version works on Nexus6 and Nexus6P (from app user's reviews, good ratings from those users).
Nexus 6p (Angler) is not the same device as a Nexus 6 (Shamu). Nexus 6 is armv7. 6p is armv8. armv8 devices are able to execute armv7 binaries.
So the big question becomes whether or not making use of the 6p's 64bit hardware is worth the increase in package size. Normally I would argue against 64 bit on a phone, but ffmpeg is an unusual application in that video de/encoding can benefit greatly from 64bit.
Similarly, AMD64 extensions may be beneficial for x86.
The nexus 6p uses an arm8 cpu which unfortunately fails to use the libraries generated by the project :(
Any plans to support this architecture?
