Cannot open Kicad Symbol Library

I am trying to create a simple LED chain with the addressable SK6812. Here is my python code

However, skidl cannot find the Kicad symbol library.

I assume you're using SKiDL 1.2.1 installed via pip? And the directory /usr/share/kicad/symbols contains a file LED.kicad_sym?

The only way I've been able to recreate your error is by using a directory for KiCad 5 with an LED.lib file. Try commenting out the sk6812 line and see if you get a similar error when the cap part is instantiated. That would indicate the error wasn't tied to a particular library file.
