Hi! Great hack, any chance to just use it as normal (maybe more secure) but just turn off the WiFi and the charging of the battery to operate it as a simple DLNA hardware. Any ideas on how to do it?

Since you may obtain root, switching off WiFi should be simple (rfkill?). No suggestions though since I don't have access to my device any more.
