TeslaMate template use?

Hello!
I run on the same Synology Docker Teslamate and EVCC.
I see there is a Teslamate template, but I do not know how to use it.

Teslamate works via mqtt. Configure an (global) mqtt broker!

My Teslamate installation also has a mosquitto installation, that runs on 1883

1. When installing Teslamate, automatically installs Mosquitto, see here
   It seems to get info from Teslamate

I missed the new

So, what's the advantage of using the Teslamate template?

The biggest advantage of using teslamate instead of using the tesla integration from my point view is that you always have the updated SoC in evcc even if it's not charging. Other advantages are: API tokens are only configured in teslamate, less calls to the API if you are already using teslamate (only teslamate instead of evcc + teslamate)

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for sharing.

The issue for me is that I use the TWC3 for charging which is a rather dumb charger. Charging is handled via the Tesla API in the car directly.
When you use the TeslaMate template you are unable to control the charging state via MQTT, because it’s read-only.

So I think either both templates need to exist next to each other for my use case, or I better switch back to the regular Tesla template. 🤔

Version 2023.38.x has broken Teslamate.

the Fix for the moment is a new docker image

Replace teslamate/teslamate:latest with seanlw/teslamate:1.27.3-a

after that, run

docker compose pull
docker compose up -d

Hey, i think this is my problem why Teslamate is not working with EVCC for me.. Because everything is set up correctly...

How can i run this?

I have exactly the same issue. I wanted to switch from TeslaAPI to Teslamate. So I set Teslamate as template, checked that it publishes correctly on the mqtt Broker configured in evcc. evcc starts without any error but does not work. When I deactivate the Teslamate template in evcc.yaml, for example by setting template= offline everything works (except vehicle connection of course due to the offline mode). The mqtt broker does work, because it also delivers needed meter data to evcc. As soon as I activate Teslamate template, evcc starts but stops working (No data via mqtt, No charge controls).

Did you solve this and got Teslamate to work with evcc?

I have 3 EVCC installations and I have problems with the new Tesla SoC implementation (expiring tokens)
Is there anyway to Access Teslamate SoC than mosquitto, like http/https ?
I need to read SoC from another server, another location.
