If I develop a controller for managing https://talos.dev cluster from flux, will you accept it to the project?
You have source controller already. We could store talos machine configuration in Git and apply configs on change. That is a first step I see in mind.

I'd be interested to use it, I use Talos and Cozystack (with Talm) and it's a good solution, but it is not GitOps

I don't know if it belongs in the Flux project but from one Flux maintainer that uses Talos, I'm interested to see what you come up with!

Definitely not something that would be under CNCF Flux, this would fit better under ClusterAPI but I see there is an official CAPI Talos project https://github.com/siderolabs/cluster-api-bootstrap-provider-talos so I'm not sure what this new controller would do more than this.

I agree that a talos-controller probably doesn't belong in Flux, but you can still build it on top of source-controller.
