Description

Improve workstation developer QoL:

  • Speed up workstation deployment (especially in development environment).
  • Document changes in GitHub wiki

Example improvements:

  • feature builds (?)
  • identify unnecessary VM restarts / redeployments (e.g. if nothing changed)
  • skip template updates step to save on dev time
  • automated deployment of SD server dev env on Qubes
  • identify the component whose source was changed and provision selectively (instead of needing the developer to say which salt states to run)

User Stories

As a developer, I'd like to have more time testing a workstation change than waiting for it to deploy.
