I would like to have icons that take an amount of space similar to the "small icons" setting for windows 11, but the current icons at 0 margin space take up more space than that. Being able to decrease the size of the icons would let me look at more icons at a time.

Maybe the new padding option (on the master branch) is what you're looking for? The icons seem pretty small to me

I think he wants the App Icon Margin option to have a smaller value, here in this picture i put it in 0 and the icons are too separated from one another, specially the applications button. They take more space than in the Windows panel having the same number of icons.

There is a separate margin option for the Show Apps button in here:

As for the app icon margin, not sure which theme you're using but with the default gnome one my icons are way closer:

Behavior->Applications->Ungroup applications =>enable, then application icon & margin can be sized by scaling related settings...
