Context

Users in the decentralized identity ecosystem may periodically rotate their cryptographic keys to enhance security and mitigate potential risks associated with key compromise. However, it is crucial to ensure that previous credentials and interactions remain functional and seamlessly transition to the newly rotated key without disruption.

Objective

The objective of this user story is to provide users with the assurance that previous credentials and interactions will continue to work seamlessly after they rotate their cryptographic keys within the decentralized identity ecosystem.

Value statement

We believe that by ensuring continuity of credentials and interactions after key rotation, we will enhance the security, reliability, and user experience within the decentralized identity ecosystem. Users will have the confidence to rotate their cryptographic keys regularly, knowing that their existing credentials and interactions will remain valid and operational. We believe that for users and developers, we will:Enhance the security posture of decentralized identities by promoting regular key rotation practices.Mitigate the risk of credential and interaction failures due to key rotations, ensuring seamless continuity.Improve user trust and confidence in the decentralized identity ecosystem by providing a smooth transition experience.
