Can’t login into iCloud on 15.1.1

I see in this discussion that logging into iCloud should work in Sequoia.

Unfortunately, I can’t get it to work in Sequoia 15.1.1.
I’m getting “Verification failed: an unknown error has occurred”.

System

• VirtualBuddy Version 1.7 (132)
• Host: macOS 15.1.1
• Guest: macOS 15.1.1

Steps
I tried two different approaches:

1. Logging in straight away in the initial macOS setup
2. Skipping the login screen in the initial setup and instead logging in through System Preferences
   Both approaches fail.

What am I missing to make this work?

You're probably not missing anything, this is just really buggy apparently, and there's nothing we can do about it.
