the assertion blocks multiple brain regions from being recorded as two fibers can not be within the same brain region. However, one brain region is imaged twice on the camera (after the dichroic splitter) so whenever there is a dual color imaging experiment, this will be a problem

solution could be to simply remove the assertion but first some careful thinking is needed if this can have undesirable consequences down the road
