Very slow response when saving and auto formatting yaml packages

Hi, I've been using this plugin for quite some time now, but I noticed that in the last months, this became very slow.
I'm running this vscode plugin in combination with a samba share addon on homeassistant, to access/edit my home assistant config files remotely from my laptop.
This is a screenshot from my ´settings.json´ file:

Whenever I want to change a file, it really takes a few seconds before the file is actually being saved.
Then also the "formatter" kicks in, which also takes quite some time (sometimes more than 10s).

When I'm looking at the output, it seems to constantly reload all configuration files?

When I disable the ´formatOnSave´, the file is saved instantly.

Is this a known problem?
Or am I doing something wrong here?

PS: I also noticed that the auto complete / template functionality is very slow. It also takes more than 15s to come with a suggestion. Not sure it this could also be related.

And also seeing quite often this message:
