Other than the usual benefits of load balancing validator nodes, providing wallet services, powering blockchain explorers, etc.
We need an API node for historical state tracking for eg. it's possible to know the current owner of an NFT, but it's not possible to know the past owners and number of transactions this NFT went through. We need this kind of data for a working explorer.
