Build Stage 97 have been dedicated to the integration of overlayFS
with https://github.com/chesty/overlayroot as work base.

armbian, debian, debian-live and raspios have different bootloaders, This make the integration of overlayfs a big task to achieve and maintain.

Others way to make a "factory reset" feature should be explored. UnionFS maybe.

aufs is not supported by raspios. The fundation devs say they will not compile the kernel with the aufs module since Kernel is shipped with overlayfs as part of the linux core.
