I cannot find any info on whether the makerfabs M.2 2280 adapter card will work in the m.2 nvme slot from this barebones computer

https://storage-asset.msi.com/datasheet/mini-pcs/global/Cubi-N-ADL.pdf

M.2 slot specs: M.2 NVMe PCIe Gen3 x2

I'd appreciate it if anyone would be able to confirm whether this will work (or not) - the idea is to put in a M.2 Accelerator with Dual Edge TPU.

Thanks.

I believe it is compatible seeing as the specs state NVMe PCIe Gen3 x2, but then you wouldn't have a boot drive. There is only 1 M.2 port and no sata ports.

@ihaveathumb is correct, but if you take a closer look at the machine's specification sheet, you'll see that the M.2 slot supports only SATA.

This is a problem because:

Dual Edge TPU Adapter is designed for Coral m.2 Accelerator with Dual Edge TPU to be used on a system with m.2 2280 B- or M-key slot available

Important: this adapter requires PCIe interface and will not work with:

    SATA m.2 slots
External USB to m.2 enclosures, including m.2 NVMe encosures
    Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4
