Does this bug already exist in our backlog?

  • I have checked and confirm this is a new bug.

Describe the issue

Hi dear people,

I would love to use the Data Export functionality for my tenant to gather the inventory and telemetry data rather than relying on all the flows in the CoE toolkit. In the prerequisites of the Data Export the following is written however:

"Network Connectivity, Network Access: Enable public access from all networks must be selected."

For our company, this is unfortunately impossible and we require all Azure subscriptions to be accessed through private endpoints. Is there a way to still use this Data Export functionality? Or do you know of changes coming up in the future that would allow us to configure this export while using private endpoints?

Expected Behavior

Configure Data Export while using private endpoints

Core

@Jochem92 The current version of the CoE Starter Kit does not include integration with the Data Export v1 that is currently in public preview.

We are currently working closely with the Dataverse team on the Private Preview of Data Export v2. As mentioned in [CoE Starter Kit - QUESTION] Roadmap Update the CoV2 Kit V2 will align with the public preview of Data Export V2.

Specifically looking at private endpoints you point out the Data Export v1 requires a public endpoint. Data Export V2 is based on Microsoft Fabric which as a product has Overview of managed private endpoints for Fabric. Specifically looking at this feature and the Data Export v2 will be a comment that the Dataverse team will need to discuss as they move into public preview.

Hi @Grant-Archibald-MS, I appreciate your swift reply! I was not aware of this V2 of the CoE Kit, apologies for missing that. I tend to only look at the CoE backlog once a year or so, as I'm relatively busy with the day-to-day admin of our Power Platform.

It looks like the V2 Data Export going through Fabric rather than via Azure storage might be something we could use in our landscape indeed, I'll keep my fingers crossed for that!
