Background: I tried correcting timecode on some files that have the correct file datem, but incorrect timecode by about 14 hours. I tried using Generate timecode from date (freely translated from the German GUI), which, however, uses the wrong file date tag.
Issue: Shutter Encoder uses file_dateCreated instead of file_dateModified. The former is set, funnily enough, when the file is copied or moved from an SD card or similar media using Windows Explorer. The latter is the date when recording of the files stopped (assuming the camera's time was correct).
Further background: I've encountered this issue with other applications too and found using file_dateModified the more reliable information for renaming my videos and photos from Fuji, Sony, and Panasonic cameras, as well as my Samsung smartphone.
I propose using file_dateModified instead - at least on Windows -, or allowing the user to chose. Optimally with a preview of the timecode.
