Building a Device with Custom Endpoints and Cluster

Is there any way to create an entirely new device with custom endpoints and clusters?
For example devices like a smart doorbell or a smart camera with functionality to trigger video calling using matter protocol.

This is possible with matter.js. You §just" need to define the needed Behaviors and Device type definitions and plug it together. Basically you need to code all the Basics that we automatically generate from the Matter model yourself to provide relevant details like clusters, structure and such.

All manufacturer specific IDs like devicetype ids, cluster-ids and such needs to be defined Vendor specific.

All controllers out there will likely ignore all non standard clusters, so the main question is what your goal is with this? In fact only an own controller would be able to use such a device. I have also no idea if/what/how this then would be certifiable ...

I agree with you on above points that all the non standard clusters will be ignored by the controllers and also the certification of such devices also seems to be not possible.

But The current idea is to use all type of devices with my own controller app for commissioning and control using only matter stack, so the devices can be managed locally under same matter standards.
