UPnP/NAT-PMP port mapping failed. Message: "could not map port using UPnP[10.2.0.2]: no router found"

I'm unable to seed while using ProtonVPN due to the errors I'll describe below. I'm hoping someone knows how to fix this, because I'm out of ideas.

Attempts

Docker

First I tried Docker, which resulted in these two messages while connecting to ProtonVPN with NAT-PMP enabled:

UPnP/NAT-PMP port mapping failed. Message: "could not map port using UPnP[10.2.0.2]: no router found"

I was using ProtonWire with some modifications to support NAT-PMP and a fairly vanilla lscr.io/linuxserver/qbittorrent:latest.

I've manually entered both the ProtonVPN container and the qBittorrent container and successfully published a HTTP server on the forwarded port, so as far as I can tell the VPN setup is working.

As has to be expected, seeding doesn't work.

Arch

I've now also tried a vanilla install of qBittorrent with ProtonVPN enabled and it still doesn't work. On Arch, I get these errors:

As has to be expected, seeding doesn't work.

Things I tried

• Check that the listen port is correctly set
• Adjust UPnP lease duration to some value other than 0
• Set μTP-TCP mixed mode algorithm to Peer proportional (this fixed qBittorrent always displays "Port mapping failure No router found" message? #13629)

Does anyone know what's going on? Do I file this as an issue?

I've delved into it yesterday and found that my VPN doest set the default route, which libtorrent uses for NAT-PMP. Ive made a pull request that fixes the issue by adding a new config variable.
