OpenRouter has introduced shortcuts for provider sorting:

These shortcuts are meant to be appended to the model name to sort providers by throughput or price.

These shortcuts result in unknown model errors when used with llm:

$ llm prompt -m openrouter/meta-llama/llama-3.3-70b-instruct:nitro "Hello"
Error: 'Unknown model: openrouter/meta-llama/llama-3.3-70b-instruct:nitro'`
