Telegram integration?

It is easy to create a Telegram bot, which can send messages to users or chats.
Than you can call these functions with a simple URL.

I wonder, what is the reason that only email is allowed to register new users or send notifications?
(setting up SMTP is much more complicated)

Why?

1. My clients are no IT-pros. (mostly cooks)
2. They get ca 100 emails pro days (mostly SPAM)
3. Even If I call and say: I've just sent it ... they do not find
4. Especially if the email is not localized. (Maybe 2% understands English.)
5. So basically there is no point to install an SMTP to the server or even allow that port.
   (an other security risk for the VPN server!)
