Obs completely breaks when I open the JSON file

Whenever I open the JSON file of the controller or keyboard or mouse or any of them, obs stops letting me save recordings, streams, replay buffers, it won't let me change the size of the controller, if I turn off the preview and turn it back on it won't turn back on. I can't open anything, the crash reports don't work, it doesn't count as a crash.

as far as I'm aware no one else I've talked to for help has been able to reproduce this, but all i have to do is open the JSON file for any of the presets and obs completely breaks

I expect it to let me use the input overlay, instead it doesn't let me change the size of anything, or even use the input overlay in the preview

While the screenshots are on 30.2.3 I have tried several version combinations 5.0.5 and 5.0.6 with obs version 31.0.0, 30.2.3 30.2.0, 29.0.0
