A lot of WebOS apps technnically made for newer versions of webos should still work just fine on older versions, however these apps do not show up at all in the lg content store. Not sure given DRM in IPK and whatever protections the content store api may have, but it would be really nice to be able to download and attempt to install any content store apps.
If there already is any sort of archive of (free) apps from the content store somewhere besides adding this to dev manager that would be nice to know as well.

I think someone could do that and make a new repo (we can't host such content to prevent copyright issues). Then if dev-manager-desktop supports multiple repos, this can be done. #295
What apps are you looking for? And which webOS versions? There are sometimes (maybe even usually) legitimate reasons for apps not being available on older versions—particularly webOS 1 and 2. (There are also region restrictions, which obviously don't have technical reasons.)
