Startup Page Not Displaying Properly in Zen Browser (Latest Build, Windows 11

What happened?

Zen Browser fails to load the startup page correctly upon opening the browser. Instead of displaying the default homepage, the user is presented with a blank or corrupted page (as shown in the attached screenshot).

Steps to Reproduce

1. Install the latest version of Zen Browser on Windows 11.
2. Set the startup page to the default (Firefox Start Page) in browser settings.
3. Restart the browser.
4. Observe that the startup page does not load correctly.

Expected Behavior

The browser should display the designated startup page (Firefox Start Page or any user-defined page) when launching.

Actual Behavior

The startup page does not load and appears blank or corrupted. Other pages, including manually entered URLs, seem to load correctly.

Additional Information

• Zen Browser Version: Latest (as of issue date)
• Operating System: Windows 11
• Extensions Installed:
  • uBlock Origin
  • Dark Reader
  • Tetris
  • Multithreaded Download Manager
  • (Other extensions that do not modify browser settings)
• Console Logs: No relevant errors in the Developer Console (F12).
• Proxy/VPN: Not in use.
• Logs: Not checked yet.
• Screenshot: Attached for reference.

Possible Causes

• Misconfiguration in the default homepage loading mechanism.
• Firefox-based homepage scripts might not be executing correctly.
• Compatibility issue with Windows 11.
• Profile corruption or missing dependencies.

Additional Notes

This issue persists even after restarting the browser multiple times. Manually entering URLs works fine, but the startup page consistently fails to load.

• I have checked that this issue cannot be reproduced on Mozilla Firefox.

This is happening to me too. I'm runnig the latest version of the Zen browser with the tarball on arch linux and when I open it, it just shows a blank page, even though I set it to show recent used websites.

Same happening here on Ubuntu 24.04.2, latest version of Zen Browser, the only extension I'm using is AdBlocker Ultimate.
