This is a holding page for a project idea to spoof the communication between the Solis inverter and its meter.
Fool the inverter so that constantly exports, say, 50W or 100W. This would be very useful for hybrid systems during the summer when the battery have plenty of charge still left by the morning.
My system always uses 10-50Wh of energy overnight. Probably due to the lag between the fridge/freezer motor coming on and the inverter lag to meet the demand. Having a small constant export could reduce this import.
System could be more intelligent so stop this behaviour if it knows the battery has low charge.
One of the most common complaint in the Solis Facebook Groups. "My inverter does not match my utility meter".
The same meter spoofing mechanism can be used.
My utility meter is an Iskra ME162 which can be read optically. This project proof of concept is complete. I am able to read the meter every 330ms or so. This data can be used instead of the Eastron meter's registers.
SolisCloud should therefore report the EXACT import/export that will match your utility meter (and electric bill, of course).
TODO: Add the meter reader project to github.
