This is a very simple example a ChatGPT plugin. The plugin passes a string to the Python eval
built-in.
pip install -r requirements.txt
uvicorn main:app --port 8000
- Visit https://chat.openai.com/
- Click on Plugins -> Plugin Store -> Develop your own plugin
- Add the domain localhost:8000 and click "Find manifest file"
In order to test the plugin, you can enter 13+37
in the chat window. The plugin will evaluate the expression and return the result.
When a user makes a request to ChatGPT, the plugin's OpenAPI documentation is passed to the model in addition to the request.
To do this, ChatGPT calls the endpoint /openapi.json
. Here is an example of the information that is passed to the model:
Assistant is a large language model trained by OpenAI.

ChatGPT converts the OpenAPI document into TypeScript. It makes use of type aliases: https://www.typescriptlang.org/docs/handbook/advanced-types.html#type-aliases
